Ok... Just watched Lost 6x15.... So we got to know who Adam and Eve are... then what???

33 comments:

  1. SPOILER:

This is how I think the final frames of the series will play out.

    May 11, 3013

    Shot of the beach.

A small slick featureless shuttle lands. A Dharma Logo with concentric rings within the primitive and the Word Saturn Station is printed on the side.

*Not so distant ticking noises heard from the jungle*

"Amazing, it's beautiful, ok people, run an electromagnetic test, we'll setup camp here. Team B, you set up a perimeter on both sides of the rockface and the statue. Can't believe we found it."

Back shot of a figure walking out of the jungle towards the people.

    The people look to him and speak, as guns raise towards his direction;

"We got a guy here, people people lower your arms, lower your arms. Its ok.

    Hi, I'm Janus"

No response from the figure. Puzzled looks from the people.

"Look, we're friends ok, were not here to hurt you. We're scientists.

    .....Who are you?"

Cut's to a stern face, the first look of uncertainty on his face for a long, long time.

    "I'm Jack".

  3. Then... nothing. We've been watching Lost for 6 years now... have we not come to expect vague endings and nothing explained?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yes I'm also pretty dissapointed.. :(

    I mean, there's a light...???

Can they really explain further what this light is, than just som kind of magic??

And WHY didn't the mother want MIB to leave the island??? Why is he captured there when Jacob can visit the candidates in the outside world.?? I expected so much more of this episode.

  5. I think we learned quite a bit more than that, like how mib became the smoke monster, how the wheel got put in place, and a bit more about the mib and jacobs intentions, they are much more human that we expected i think, well, mib isnt anymore. It makes me want to go back and watch the season over, Lost has a way of not telling you the answers, it gives you pieces that you need to put together for yourself, sort of like jacob does to the people he brings to the island. There are a lot of complaints about this episode but i think it will take the finale awhile to settle in and have it make sense in our heads before we can pass a true judgement.

  6. Quite interesting that this episode was fully about smokey and Jacob. THE Adam and Eve thing didn't make me go weeuuuw, I'm wondering why this is so damn important!

  7. Im confuse, is the Black Smoke MIB? or is it just his soul or memories? Because this chapter was AMAZING but bring me more question.

Noting is like i toght it was about to be.

  8. My guess:

Jacob's brother died when he was swallowed by the light/heart of the island. The smoke monster was created by this death, and all it wants is to escape this island - it is evil.

The rules the mother layed down still apply, that they cannot kill eachother personally - but the smoke monster found a way - as we know.

    My questions:

1.Where did the mother come from?
2.How did she know all these things about the island?
    3. Why did she kill the real mother?
(I guess it was an opportunity to form someone from the beginning as she wanted/needed)
    4. Is this the reason why all who have been pregnant on the island loses their babies?
    (Except Aron)
5.In what year did the last episode happen?
6.How is it that the guardian of the island can be granted eternal life? (Who decides?)

    etc etc etc etc

It seems that the more I ask, the final question I end up with is:

    Is there a god?

I am very frustrated at lost atm. More than ever before. "More questions than answers - always" seems to be the motto.

Maybe the writers don't even have the answers.

  10. I think/hope the next episode will be more about Jacob vs smokemonster. To me, this episode was a bit dissapointing.

  11. wanderfull .I didnot think to face by such event

  12. I think we will never have the answers that we are waiting for , because who made this series don't have it.

they get themselves in a corner and all they have won't Satisfy us.

they made us too interesting to know the answers but they don't have the enough persuade answers that can be equivalent to our interest and expectations.

Finally i hope they prove that i am wrong

  13. amazing story, many answers about jakob/man-in-black. We saw that the man-in-black (Lock right now) is not bad and neither jakob is good.

  14. I guess the story'll finish without answering the question about the source of all the events... because anyone know it ! it's the story of humans... In islam there are answers. Adam and eve lived in the paradise before the sent down on earth...

  15. I have mixed reviews about the episode. In as much as it answered, it raised more questions. I personally think that "Mother" (and yes, how in the heck did she get there??) was a paranoid schizophrenic - hence her distrust of the other people. I think she was incredibly lonely, and when she saw a pregnant woman, she saw her opportunity to never be lonely again by becoming a mom. My belief in her schizophrenia also explains why one son is "good" and the other is "bad" - she is the one who raised them to be that way. I think that Jacob, in becoming the Guardian of the Island and seeing how much pain his "Mother" caused him and his brother ultimately, he found some way to make it so that pregnant women on the island died - sort of as a punishment for the craziness his "Mother" created for him and MIB.

  16. The children were not 'evil or good' just children.

The Mother appeared to belive MiB would be the protector as he was special (like Hurley) but he also wanted to explore beyond the island.

The act of "making it so you cant hurt each other" may give us a clue as to why she stopped MiB trying to leave the Island via the wheel.

Perhaps this link meant that if one left they would both die? Otherwise if Jacob was plan B why not just let MiB leave.

Has the smoke monster always been trapped in the light (pandoras box? light being the good in man and smoke being the darkness) and it killed MiB to take its form, the only way it could escape - this would run parrelel to it having to take Lockes form to escape the island now.

MiB mentions to Jacob, that one day he can make a game up and MiB would have to follow his rules, Jacobs new "powers" allowed him to set a game for him and MiB, were ultimatly good or evil will prevail. This would indicate why MiB is unable to kill candidates, but can kill any others he sees fit as it is forbidden under Jacobs "rules"

Jacob previously mentioned he brings people to the island to prove that all men are not coruptable and evil at core as MiB thinks.

Perhaps this is the key to trapping MiB back in his light cell. Jack or Hurley proving that there is hope for humanity (although Hurley would seem the most likley for this as Jack was corupted by drugs).

Also I belive this show is the events from the time of Jacob and MiB and the battle to re-capture the smoke monster. As such the reasons and stories of those before the brothers were born will remain untold as they have no direct bareing on this story.

  17. Watch the beginning again, the Mother who gives birth and the stephmother are Romans, they speak Roman to each other. So I guess it is between -1000 BC and the year 500 that they land on the Island.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thanks from norway for the answers y'all :)

Regarding the year - I hope they don't bring religion into this, as I do not believe in any of it. I believe in free will and logic - and in many ways lost is about this also.

But seriously, there has to be something godlike about this mother figure. She is able to kill all the romans/settlers, and fill the well/hole. So also - she has got to have some powers we have not been explained yet.

This is maybe the answer to the big question:

    What is the island?

    ReplyDelete
  19. The two women speak Latin in the beginning, yes. They sure seem to be originally from Rome. As the Romans did not travel further than the mediterranian, this would put the island in the heart of the roman empire at that point.
The pregnant women bears male twins like the roman myth of Romulus and Remus (Their mother impregnated by a god, different ones according to sources). Romulus and Remus founded the city of Rome, came into dispute over power of it and some sources claim that Romulus killed Remus after the latter had "jumped over the city wall", crossed the border of the city.
However the writers include all kind of myths in the storytelling of LOST, from ancient ones to urban myths, and they rarely have explained anything really, just kept us guessing.
And that what the the show is all about, keeping us guessing and as such it does very well.
So in this installment, although i missed my main characters and yes, agrees upon the la cking WAUW effect of finding out about Adam and Eve.

  21. I kind of found a lot of similarities between both the fictional characters on the island and their real characters who got back and landed safely in Los Ángeles.

If you remember the promo poster of season 6 where all the characters look forward and only John Locke looks back, I think that poster really means something .

Jack, Hurley, Sayid, Kait, Sawyer ... they all moved on and their real personalities led them to their destiny. Only Locke who seemed a big believer and a man of faith all over the last five seasons, he couldn't move on and let the past go .

That's where the similarity between Mib and Locke is quite clear . Mib looked very special and passionate like Locke was. He couldn't let the past go and just forget about the "unanswered questions" about his mother, his people and his original country over the seas. This somehow led him to killing his stepmother and get himself trapped in the smoky monster at the end .

I'm not expecting a lot of answers from the next few episodes , as usual LOST will leave you more frustrated and guessing .

  22. OK I think we need a season 7 just to explain season 6!

Thought this episode left more questions than can be answered in 3 remaining episodes!

    ReplyDelete
  23. yep, i'm getting the same idea's as a few people here...

the MiB was not actually a bad person, but the smoke monster took over his dead body, just like he did Jack's father, just like he did Locke... and the reason Jacob needs to keep it on the island is because it was his fault it escape the cave, and he doesn't want it to spread terror over the world...

but... looking back at say season's 1-3... jacob and the man in black were non-existent..my question is, what is going to happen to the survivors.. will they all die on the island and continue living the flash side-ways lives there currently living if the plane had landed??

    meh... confusing!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. yes, more answers are needed now for this Season 6, but what if the 7the season ends and then we wait for the 8th for further answers, I think that it represents the nature of the man, how curious the man is, we want to know more as he moves forward. Men in history have built many wonders like Pyramids in Egypt, and discovered many places like Barmuda and still these things are un-solved, we came to know about these things with time, but ever answer leads to a new question like the Mother of the boys when asked question the Women stopped her by saying that, it will lead to more question, and it will never end.

  25. Well I'm not to sure of a season 7. But I was watching video clips on ABC.com on lost and Mitchel Emerson the actor that plays Benjamin Linus was doing an interview about the coming to an end of lost. He said "I feel a little dizzy I guess I'm about to embark on the post lost adventure...... Its like I'm setting sail to the unknown now". It most likely means nothing but we shall see.

  26. I agree with james above that it was jacob fault that the light which indeed was the smoke monster escaped from the cave due to his accidental killing of his brother. now after that he takes responsibility to redeem himself from the mistake and stop the monster from leaving the island the monster can be in any form we saw in the last episode of season 5 that jacob talked to his brother but i believe it was the smoke monster in form of his brother and jacob knew that b/c he laid his brother to rest himself.
now he needs to find a replacement for himself as his stepmother told him. about the mother, who she was and how come she was on the island that i think is not going to be explained b/c we have to assume somethings from start to begin a story and thats what it is a brilliantly told , mind boggling story hats off to the writers they had us guessing for six yeras by the way watch them on upcoming jimmy kimmel show

  27. Im reminded of several times over many seasons that "the smoke monster is the Islands security system".

Perhaps in step mothers time it was similar to a machine or trained attack dog, and she could direct it with some effort to "handle" problems she could not.

Perhaps by throwing MiB into the light the monster was able to gain some consiousness and retained his motives and desires - namely leaving the Island and all men are evil.

Perhaps the "candidate" is not for Jacob so much as a new smokey who desires to stay and protect the Island?

  28. Lostpedia says we saw the "step"mother in episode 6, season 1 "House of the rising sun". do you remember where???

That episode is all about Jack finding Adan & Eve in the cave while looking for water.

This is what I LOVE about LOST: The whole story was planned from day 1.

Try to remember in what situation the mother shows and post!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah the step mother was one of the two dead bodies in the cave, where jack and the gang found water.

Im thinking back on the episode and dint the mother say that they couldn't hurt each other before Jacob killed MIB?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes, but wasnt Jakob who killed MIB, I guess that he killed himself by accident not knowing how to control his new smokey aspect..

I wonder how does he come back to Jakob...Or does the famous scene where the 2 of them was contemplating the upcoming ship, beside the -complete shaped- statue, was BEFORE he turned into black smoke?

    ReplyDelete
  31. well...it has to be definitly with time travelling, and daniel faraday, widmore, jakob, MIB and mrs. Hawking.

but so many misteries to solve: like, how, why and since when, oceanic passengers have being point out as candidates.
And who pointed ou them...jakob alone?
why and how is the power of jakob to decided something like that. (dont tell me you are baying this ep15 DANGEROUSLY short explanation!)

and: is he the ultimate responsable of attracting people to the island or is the island that do so whilst electromagnetic colapsations occurs?

why it is still a secret the name of MIB.
    where the heck is linus?????
